Jennifer Aniston's colorist is sharing his home hair color tips

Hollywood hair colorist Michael Canalé, who color Jennifer Aniston's hair is giving tips to celebrities and regular customers who wants to color their hair at home. Salons are closed for the time being because of the coronavirus.

He said, “I’m not doing house calls".

“We’re mailing out their exact formulas so they can actually do touch-ups at home. We’re giving them enough to do the part and around the hairline.”

“It’s a messy project. So if they can get a friend or a partner to help, that’d be best. I’ve had the same clients forever, though, so they all know what I do, and we are giving them directions.”

“Use semi-permanent for the time being, until the salons are open again. Get rid of the gray, play around with some red tones, have some fun with it knowing it’s not permanent. That way, your salon will be able to just pick up where they left off.”

"And when choosing a shade, opt for “a natural base color".

“You’re just tinting it a bit; it’s not going to be like going to the salon. You also want to go two shades lighter around the hairline, which naturally picks up color [differently]. So if you’re doing light brown, you’d do dark blond around the hairline.”
