Jennifer Aniston receives People’s Icon Award on Sunday at the 2019 People’s Choice Awards on Sunday.
When she received the award, she said, “Thank you for this incredible honor. This town throws out a lot of awards, but the People’s Choice, this has always been special to me. As actors, we don’t do this for critics or for each other, or to make out families proud, you know? We do this for the mone. No, I’m just kidding, we do it for you guys, we really do. None of us could do what we do if it was not for all of you, and you all have been so good to me.”
“If I have any claim to this word ‘icon,’ it’s only because I was able to be on an iconic show, with an iconic cast, and an iconic haircut. Friends was truly — it was the gift of a lifetime, and I would not be standing up here without that amazing show, without those amazing five other actors, and with an audience who stuck with us … You believed in us, you really did, and you believed in those very impossibly large apartments.”
“You paved the way for everything that I’ve had a chance to do since and it feels so good, also, that I get to be back on television, where it all started. Thank you for being on this journey with me, and just, I love you guys.”

Justin Theroux posted on Jennifer Aniston's instagram to ask people to adopt a dog at Ventura County Animal Services shelter in California.
He Wrote, "KUMA had a feeling there might be some amazing puppies in there SO, we went over to meet some of them...and the human SAINTS that take care of them. We met SOME SERIOUSLY CUTE PUPS.... KUMA used to be JUST like them...without a forever home."
"SO!!! She DEMANDED that we do something!". At the very least, she made sure it was easy to adopt them....ALL of their adoption fees have been paid... Now ALL they need is an amazing Human who is committed to taking care of them. It sounds like a lot, but you'll soon see... once rescued, they take care of you."

Aniston tells her story at Variety's Power of Women luncheon n Friday. There were other power women as well, Awkwafina, Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Brie Larson, and Dana Walden.
Aniston shared her experience, "I remember a parental figure saying to me around the critical age of about 11, after a dinner party, that I was excused from the table because I didn’t have anything interesting to add to the conversation. Ouch. It stuck to me, it stuck to me like painfully worded sentences can and if I’m being honest—and I’m being honest because I’m 50 and that comes with the territory—I carried that sentence with me into adulthood".
"I always felt incredibly comfortable giving a voice to the words of others but put me in a table full of strangers and I’d go right back to being 11 years old."
"These last two years have really made me think a lot about the messages we send young kids—little girls especially. How the things we say and do can either build them up—or tear them down. And make them feel like maybe their voices don’t matter. "I started meeting all of these people who expressed to me how much the show meant to them—how it lifted their spirits during a bad breakup or got them through an illness. I was just so incredibly moved by that."
