Jennifer Aniston was earning $22,500 per episode on Season 1 but then later it increased to $40,000 per episode on Season 2 where her on-screen relationship with Ross (David Schwimmer) become a hit.

Thus, both Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were earning much more compare to other casts.

Later on, there was a negotiation for equal pay as they  threatened not to show up for other shows.

Jennifer explained, "[The negotiatons were] more about, ‘We’re doing equal work and we all deserve to be compensated in the same way.’ I wouldn’t feel good going to work knowing someone was getting x amount and I was getting something greater."

Hence, Aniston and David Schwimmer agreed for a pay cut to make sure that everyone was given equal pay. For season 3, all the casts were paid $75,000 per episode and  $1 million per episode for seasons 9 and 10.
